A "proud dad", who became a "single dad overnight", has shared photos of his grown daughters who he says he raised on his own after his wife left them for another man. Sharing a photo of his daughters, who are now women, he wrote: "My then wife was having an affair and left me and our girls when they were aged 7 & 4. I was a single dad overnight and brought them up on my own and held down a full time job. This pic is my favourite my girls and says a lot about them. They are now 25 & 22. They are my world." This isn't the first time the father has posted about his wife's affair that broke their family. Some months back, he tweeted: "17 years ago my then wife left me & our girls then aged 7 & 4 for the (married) guy she was having an affair with. I became a single parent overnight. The 55-year-old died in a horror smash near Lindau and Lake Constance, in the southern state of Bavaria, on Sunday, March 17. He reportedly crashed his €20,000 motorbike into the guard rail near Lake Constance According to the German newspaper Bild, Prince Otto hit a barrier at speed and suffered multiple injuries. A 10-year-old girl and her 55-year-old mother, Mrs. Patience Ughana, were on Monday evening, electrocuted inside their shop along Nnewi-Nnobi road in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra state. Confirming the incident, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, the state Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, said a high tension wire fell on the shop, electrocuting the victims. The Premier League has confirmed that six people from three different clubs have tested positive for Coronavirus after the first wave were carried out within the top-flight this week.  A Premier League statement read: “The Premier League can today confirm that on Sunday 17 May and Monday 18 May, 748 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, six have tested positive from three clubs. “Players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days. The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. “No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public in this way after each round of testing.” Clubs and individuals that tested positive for coronavirus have not been disclosed for data protection reasons. A 17-year-old girl identified as Wilma Andersson, was reportedly beheaded by her ex-boyfriend when she returned to his flat to collect her belongings after she broke up with him. Andersson and Tishko Ahmed Shabaz, 23, had been dating for two years before she ended the relationship. The teenager had disappeared on November 14 last year before police found a 'body part' a fortnight later which turned out to be her head.  Police arrested Ahmad and kept him in custody after they searched his flat and found traces of blood inside. According to court papers, police then discovered Wilma’s severed head in a suitcase, wrapped in aluminium foil and sticky tape, on November 28, bringing the missing person search to an end and the launch of a murder investigation. 176 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 5,621. According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), out of the new cases, 95 are confirmed to be in Lagos, 31 in Oyo, 11 in Abuja,  eight each in Niger and Borno states, six in Jigawa, four in Kaduna, three in Anambra, two each in Edo, Rivers, Nasarawa and Bauchi and one each in Benue and Zamfara. The agency also stated that the number of recovered cases stands now at 1,472, while the death toll from the disease stands at 176. Here’s a full break down of the total number of cases by state.

Lauretta Onochie, the Personal Assistant to President Buhari on Social media, has revealed why the president doesn’t wear face mask. The NCDC, Ministry of Health, and the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 have repeatedly advised Nigerians to wear a face mask to prevent getting infected with the Coronavirus. President Buhari has engaged in several meetings since the Coronavirus pandemic started and pictures shared from those meetings show him as the only one not wearing face mask. Backing the president, Onochie pointed out that expert medical protocol states that there is no need for face mask when in a safe environment, hence Buhari’s reason for not wearing it. In a post on her Twitter handle, Onochie insisted that President Buhari was not breaking any rules by not wearing face mask. Nigeria has recorded 288 new cases of the novel coronavirus. According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, 179 of the new cases were discovered in Lagos alone. 20 in Kaduna, 15 in Katsina, 15 in Jigawa, 13in Borno, 11 in Ogun, 8 in Kano, 7 in FCT, 4 in Niger, 4 in Ekiti, 3 in Oyo, 3 in Delta, 3 in Bauchi, 2 in Kwara and 1 in Edo. Nigeria now has 5445 confirmed cases of the viral disease. 1320 patients have so far been discharged while 171 deaths have so far been recorded.

The founder and leader of International Godsway Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim has been arrested by the police.  Peace FM’s Nana Yaw Kese revealed that Obinim has been on the wanted list of the police for a while now but has been trying to evade arrest.  He was reportedly arrested in his church on Thursday May 14, after the police received information that he was having a counseling session at the church. Two grown men took to the streets to fight each other over a woman. In a video shared online, both men are seen throwing punches at each other in public. A crowd gathered to watch the fight but the men made no move to stop, not even after they were threatened that their video will be shared on Facebook.

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday night in Komarock, Nairobi County, as a 33-year-old woman identified as Jane Mwende committed suicide by hanging herself. The woman who hanged herself with an iron box cable, also gave a poisonous substance to her children. Her two children said to be a boy aged seven and a girl aged 3, were rescued by neighbours who rushed them to Komarock Modern Hospital.  The remaining poisonous solution was found in the kitchen by Kayole police officers who visited the crime scene. In a suicide note found in the woman’s bedroom, she disclosed that she took her life because she was tired of being maltreated by her husband.  K2TV reported that prior to Jane's death, she had a quarrel with her husband Edimond Maubi and they did not speak for a day.  Commenting on his wife's death, Maubi said it did not occur to him that she would resort to such extreme measures.

The Slovenian government has declared the end of the coronavirus pandemic, becoming the first country in Europe to do so after authorities confirmed less than seven new coronavirus cases each day for the past two weeks. People now arriving in Slovenia from other European Union states will no longer be obliged to go into quarantine for at least seven days as was the case from early April, the government said in a statement, but a quarantine of at least 14 days will remain in place for people from non-EU states, except for some exemptions including diplomats and people transporting cargo.  As for foreign citizens who show signs of coronavirus infection, they will not be allowed to enter the country. Citizens will still have to follow basic rules to prevent a possible spread of infection, the government said without elaborating. A young boy was left with rectal bleeding after he was allegedly battered by his father's wife-to-be with a log of wood in Anambra.
