Singer Jaywon arrested for violating curfew order in Lagos state


Nigerian singer Jaywon was arrested on Monday May 4 by policemen attached to the Dolphin Estate Division of the Lagos State Police Command, for violating the curfew order given by President Buhari. 

Recall that President Buhari had declared an overnight nationwide curfew on April 27, in a bid to check the spread of Coronavirus. The curfew began on May 4 and will run from 8pm to 6am daily. 

The singer was intercepted and taken into custody by 11pm on Monday while driving to an unknown location.

Jaywon whose statement was taken at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, was charged before a mobile court on Tuesday May 5. He pleaded guilty to the charges levelled against him, and was ordered him to pay a fine of N10,000. He was also ordered to do a 30 minutes community service.

Six Premier League players and staff from three different clubs test positive for Coronavirus after massive testing

The Premier League has confirmed that six people from three different clubs have tested positive for Coronavirus after the first wave were carried out within the top-flight this week.  A Premier League statement read: “The Premier League can today confirm that on Sunday 17 May and Monday 18 May, 748 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, six have tested positive from three clubs. “Players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days. The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. “No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public in this way after each round of testing.” Clubs and individuals that tested positive for coronavirus have not been disclosed for data protection reasons. Proud single dad shows off the daughters he raised by himself after his 'cheating' wife left him with their kids and moved on with a married man

A "proud dad", who became a "single dad overnight", has shared photos of his grown daughters who he says he raised on his own after his wife left them for another man. Sharing a photo of his daughters, who are now women, he wrote: "My then wife was having an affair and left me and our girls when they were aged 7 & 4. I was a single dad overnight and brought them up on my own and held down a full time job. This pic is my favourite my girls and says a lot about them. They are now 25 & 22. They are my world." This isn't the first time the father has posted about his wife's affair that broke their family. Some months back, he tweeted: "17 years ago my then wife left me & our girls then aged 7 & 4 for the (married) guy she was having an affair with. I became a single parent overnight.
